Stylistically interesting heritage building adapted to hotel use. Our room, somewhat Spartan but comfortable, looked out over a courtyard-like environment (quiet while in the heart of the city) and had lovely large windows and high ceilings. The location in the heart of town puts you within very easy walking distance of major points of interest (i.e. historic Government Centre, museums), shopping and dining. Soap/shampoo dispensers rather than the tiny bottles/tubes - less waste and packaging.

For a modern/contemporary hotel, not having USB charging points in the room is not great; many travelers come from outside continental Europe and rely on USB ports (rather than clunky adapter plugs) to charge phones &c. Sills between heritage floors in the room entrance and updated surfaces are a bit of a tripping hazard; not very suitable for people with vision or mobility issues. Nespresso machines with plastic capsules not very environmentally friendly.

Location is incredible and the room was perfectly clean. We had everything we needed. The owner is the nicest person ever. Unrelated to our stay, I accidentally left my wedding ring in my room the day before leaving for United States. The owner graciously sent me the ring back free of charge (even though I definitely wanted to pay him for the nice gesture). If we ever find ourselves in Amsterdam again, we will for sure stay at the Nine Streets Inn.

Lovely, small family-owned place with delightfully colourful, non-conformist interior design and charming atmosphere. Breakfast basket had all one would need for a good start for the day - berries, fresh orange juice and good coffee being particularly welcome. Great location by the Oudegracht canal, in the historic centre of Utrecht.

I waited quite a while to post this, as I really don't like to post something negative. But this experience was not good. In a nutshell, when we booked this room, every unit they have, had one large album, containing pictures of every unit - not just the one you selected. Since they all have the same decor, it was not possible to realize that the room we were renting, was not necessarily the one in the photos. When we arrived, we expected (per the pictures) a unit with a bedroom, living room, and full bathroom. The room we were given was a tiny one room unit, with no temperature control except for a window with no screen on the first floor. The bathroom sink was located inside the shower - to the point that if you wanted to wash your hands, you had to take your shoes and socks off and roll your pants up, because you were standing in the shower. We left the next morning and got a hotel room nearby to salvage the weekend trip. After trying to reason with the host, we were denied any refund and told that the room was represented properly. We spoke on the phone to a representative from Booking . com who CONFIRMED that the photos were incorrect at the time of our booking, and were told to go through the online customer service to request a refund. We messaged customer service 8-10 times regarding the issue and never received a single response from Booking.com until we finally got a message from them say that they had contacted the host, and we were not receiving anything. Again, booking.com did not bother to speak to us at all. It was obvious that Booking.com was more interested in pleasing the host and covering up an unfortunate mistake they made, instead of rectifying the situation for paying customers.

The comfort of the beds need improvement: mastress was much too soft, and although we had a double bed they gave us 2 individual duna. The pillows were also VERY big which wasn't convenient.
