Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaCrookedstone House is a charming old house that has been lovingly decorated & restored and located very close to the airport. Our large bedroom was lovely with a super comfy bed and spotlessly clean shared bathroom. (though we didn’t see anyone else) Primrose is a warm and friendly host and cooked us a delicious breakfast. We enjoyed meeting her family of dogs who greeted us in the morning.

United KingdomWe had the dog friendly room as we were late to book but probably would have preferred the other room.
Primrose was a great host, very personable and spent time chatting. More like a home than a B&b with great views of the horses. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful with ingredients from her farm. Bed was really comfy and shower in shared bathroom excellent. Beautiful old house.

SwedenThe house is old and looks a bit spooky on the outside, but it's very cozy inside! The bathroom that is shared with other guests is very nice in an old-fashioned style. Very good water pressure in the shower!! The owner is very nice and has decorated the house very nicely! We got a good night's sleep and a good breakfast before we traveled on.

United KingdomThe house does smell very strongly of dog, this was fine for us for one night but may have been off putting for a longer stay. We also got woken up around 1am when the dogs all started barking and setting each other off. Luckily they settled down, and the smell didn’t extend to the bedroom we were in. There were a couple of big spiders in the shared shower which made us wonder how often it was cleaned
Stayed here for 1 night before an early flight, a 20 minute walk from the airport but were able to arrange a ride with Steve at 4am, £10 for a 5 minute drive which we thought was reasonable (make sure you have the correct change)! Primrose and Steve were both really friendly and helpful, there were a few local takeaway options so we ordered a dominos which Primrose delivered us to our door when it arrived! The bed was incredibly comfy and we enjoyed the view of the stables watching the animals. We are dog people so weren’t put off by the message about animals, but it is worth noting there are a LOT of animals, we saw at least 10 dogs so this might not be everybody’s cup of tea

United KingdomThere wasn't an ensuite bathroom which was one of the filters I put on Booking dot com for my search when choosing accommodation for the trip but this is more my fault for not double checking. The shared bathroom was clean but had some spiders around and black mould on the bath mat which was slightly off putting.
The bed might have been the most comfy hotel bed we've ever slept in. The room was lovely and clean. The location was remote but that is what we were looking for after a few days in Belfast. The hosts were very friendly and helpful as we had some good chats at breakfast and they recommended the local restaurant when we checked in. The breakfast was very nice and I loved the huge cafetiere full of coffee. It was very amusing watching the horses and dogs running around the property. We had a very nice stay.

United KingdomWe were completely overwhelmed by a strong dog smell when walked into the properly. The smell extends to the bathroom and bedroom so we could not have a good night sleep. Had to leave the window open even though it was raining/cold as we were trying to get some fresh air. Had some animals hair in our breakfast
